NEW DELHI: IRCTC is providing food to passengers free of cost onboard if the train is delayed morethen two hours due the fog.
Scores of north-bound trains are facing some problems that they are getting late for several hours because of dense fog situation.
IRCTC, a railway subsidiary, is taking all efforts to provide meals to the passengers, if the journey is extended by more than two hours.
However, the free catering service is being provided on trains during the journey and the facility is not extended at platforms, a senior
IRCTC official said.
He said passengers will be served tea/coffee, lunch/dinner or breakfast/evening tea, depending on the timings.
This is an very good decision by Indian Railway to balance the disappointment of passengers of train due to the fog.
